I’m not sure if I believe in God, but when I was doing the prayer thing, I felt someone was with me and I’m not alone.”
– Year 6 pupil
God is doing something phenomenal through Prayer Spaces in Schools. Over the last academic year alone, more than 90,000 children and young people experienced prayer in their school and momentum keeps on building.
We’ve recently trained more than 650 people on ‘how to get started’ and we are just so excited and expectant to see how God will continue to use Prayer Spaces in Schools over this next year.
Each time someone opens a prayer space in their school they’re introducing prayer to potentially hundreds of children, most for the very first time.
That was Lauren’s experience: at 14 years old, she described herself as an atheist until her experience of a prayer space completely changed her worldview. She wrote of her time in the prayer space…
I really enjoyed this, it made me cry with happiness. I am very grateful and I wish I could experience it more often.“
– Lauren, age 14
God is stirring something undeniable among the next generation, and we want to keep up with all that He is doing in our schools, in the UK and across the world.
Can you help us raise £25,000 to help us keep up with the demand and say ‘YES’ to every school who wants to run a prayer space?
With your help we want to do three important things:
- We want to double the number of Networkers in the UK from 30 to over 60.
Our Networkers are passionate local volunteers – perhaps you’re one of them! They visit prayer spaces and invite people to visit theirs, respond to enquiries, and deliver local training. The places where we’ve got active Networkers are (unsurprisingly) the places where prayer spaces multiply.
- We want to develop new training resources.
We need to develop new materials and training programmes for Networkers to deliver and distribute in their areas. This funding will enable us to produce a short ‘How to Get Started…’ video course in multiple languages to make our training more widely accessible.
- We want to significantly improve the Prayer Spaces in Schools website.
In 2022, we had 150,000 unique website visits leading to 25,717 downloads of our free resources from our online library of prayer activities, with more than a third of these from outside the UK. You could help us keep these resources free and increase the quality and accessibility of our website.
We would be thrilled if you would prayerfully consider supporting Prayer Spaces in Schools this year with either a monthly or one-off gift so that we can help even more people to say ‘YES’ to a school that wants to run a prayer space.
