These activities have been developed, not to trivialise Remembrance Day, but to increase understanding and awareness by engaging pupils with the realities of war.
Every day, soldiers hoped that the fighting would end so they could go home to their families. When we face difficult situations, when we feel sad or fearful, it can feel like time is passing slowly. For the soldiers, it must have felt like a lifetime.
This activity was adapted from Jane Whittington, Schools Officer (Christian Distinctiveness) for the Diocese of Guildford.
