This activity is named after the Black Eyed Peas song ‘Where is the Love?’ which Ariana Grande sang at the One Love charity concert following the bombing at her solo concert in Manchester in June, 2017.
The focus of this activity is finding the light in what can be a dark situation or event.
Pupils are invited to reflect on how they feel following a tragic event, and it given the an opportunity to express their feelings. It also encourages them to recognise the light amongst the darkness. “Look for the helpers,” writes the author Fred Rogers. “You will always find the people who are helping.”
This activity was developed by Sue Kirby in the wake of the bombing in Manchester, 2017.
