We all do things that we wish we hadn’t done. Sometimes we feel ashamed and try to keep what we’ve done, or said, hidden because we don’t want anyone to know about it. We sometimes call these ‘dark secrets’.
In the Bible it says that God knows everything about us, even the secret things that we try to hide from everyone else, and yet he still loves us. Nothing is so bad that God cannot, or will not, forgive.
This activity invites pupils to write one thing that they’ve said or done that they don’t feel they can tell anyone about onto a piece of paper, and then place it in a large padlocked box. Pupils can do this anonymously, although they are encouraged to consider telling a trusted adult, so that they can receive support.
