This activity uses the popular TV series ‘Doctor Who’, where the Doctor travels through time and space in this Tardis, to encourage pupils to think about their future, and to express some of their hopes or prayers for the future.
For some pupils, the future represents opportunity and adventure, the pursuing of hopes and aspirations. For other pupils, however, the future is uncertain and stressful, even fearful. We want to encourage pupils to feel positively about the future, whatever has happened in the past.
This activity invites pupils to express how they feel about their future, and to imagine what it could be like, or what they would like it to be. And then it invites the pupils to express their hopes, wishes or prayers for the future.
This prayer activity was created by Martin Stand for the first prayer space at St Aidan’s Academy in Darlington.
