We don’t get to choose the village, town or city that we grow up in, that choice is made for us. Some people will end up loving the place that they grow up in, whilst others might hate it; most of us will have both positive and negative thoughts and memories about the area we grew up in.
This activity encourages pupils to think about the place that they live and to consider their feelings towards it. Some of those thoughts will be positive, but perhaps some of them will be negative. Pupils will get the opportunity to write down their feelings, reflections and prayers towards or for the area onto either a model of a local landmark, or a photo or map of the area.
