Who are you? How do you feel about the person standing in the mirror in front of you? What do you like about her/him? What do you dislike? What do you think other people see and think when they look at you? The answers to these questions shape our self-image. This activity encourages pupils to ask these same questions, and to consider the possibility that they have been made by a God who loves them just the way they are.
This prayer activity works best when it isn’t crowded and noisy, when pupils have time to pause awhile and consider the positive words and quotes around the mirror. When someone’s self-image has been damaged, it takes time for love and comfort and words of affirmation to soak in.
