People of most faiths believe that God sometimes speaks through the words and actions of particular people (whether they believe in God or not). These people are usually called ‘prophets’. This activity encourages pupils to imagine what God might say to the world, their nation, their town, even their school or family and friends.
This prayer activity can be presented in a variety of ways, depending on the setting and the season, e.g. a letter from God, a Christmas card from God, a love letter from God. Some pupils find it hard to switch from expressing their own prayers to considering what God (whether they believe in God or not) might want to say. This activity works best, therefore, with a team member nearby to clarify the purpose and the instructions.
You will be amazed at some of the things that the pupils writes!
