This activity encourages pupils to remember someone – a friend or a family member – who is missing from their lives. It provides a safe place for students to express how they feel, and it encourages them to remember with gratitude. This activity could be especially useful when a school community has suffered the loss of a pupil or a member of staff.
“When someone you love dies, you don’t lose them all at once, you lose them in pieces over a long time.” John Irvine, ‘A Prayer For Owen Meany’
This prayer activity was created by the chaplain at Archbishop Sentamu Academy in Hull.
