For some people, ‘family’ is a source of strength and safety and belonging. For others, ‘family’ means pain and brokenness. However, the Bible says that human beings are all part of God’s family, and that God is our ‘home’. This activity encourages students to consider the family and friends who influence their lives, and how every person can be part of God’s family.
There are other prayer activities in our library which focus on family and belonging and our connection with other people around the world. This is a very simple one, which encourages the pupils to ‘opt in’ by writing their name onto a paper leaf and adding it to the tree as a symbol of belonging.
