Bubble tubes and bubble walls, lava lamps and other slow-moving, coloured-light objects are great to use in prayer spaces because they help to foster a calm, relaxed atmosphere.
This activity encourages pupils to write prayer requests, prayers of gratitude, etc. onto post-it notes and to stick them onto the tube. Students watch the bubbles rising as a symbol of their prayers ‘rising’ to God.
Bubble tubes are expensive, so we’d recommend collaborating with other local churches and buying one to share between you.
