The Prayer Space Sessions are our one hour bitesize conversations to inspire and equip you in your work with schools.
This session will help us understand how prayer spaces and chaplaincy work brilliantly together to nurture the spiritual life of pupils and will bring helpful insights for anyone running prayer spaces whether in a chaplaincy role or as a school visitor.
Catherine Simpson is the Educational Chaplaincy Enabler for the Diocese of Durham who works part time as a primary school chaplain. Catherine also runs great prayer spaces and has been an adviser to local schools wanting to empower their pupils in setting up permanent prayer spaces.
Paul Sanderson has been Chaplain at two Woodards Schools for 16 years. During that time he has run an annual prayer space for students across a week working in partnership with local church volunteers. He has a passion to help staff and students know they are loved, can be free and that their life has meaning. In his spare time he walks, reads and cheers on West Ham.
This Prayer Spaces Session is being run in partnership with the Centre for Chaplaincy in Education, a national charity supporting and resourcing all kinds of chaplaincy in every kind of school across the UK.
